While Nepal had earlier claimed Lord Rama as its own, now Nepal has also started another controversy by claiming the world-famous Gautam Buddha as its own. Earlier, Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Calling Buddha an Indian great man, Nepal was incensed and said that Buddha is not an Indian but a Nepali, he was born in Nepal and not in India. Following which, after Lord Rama, now there is a controversy in Nepal about Buddha.

Nepal's foreign ministry said historical and mythological facts prove that Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddha and Buddhism and has also been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

During his visit to Nepal in 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Parliament of Nepal, saying that Nepal is the country where Lord Buddha was born and world peace was proclaimed. The statement was issued by Nepal's Foreign Ministry on Twitter. Meanwhile, the Indian External Affairs Ministry also retaliated against Nepal's allegations.

The Indian External Affairs Ministry expressed regret over Nepal's statements and said that External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar's statement is being misrepresented, he made this statement keeping in view the heritage of Lord Buddha as Lord Buddha lived in India for many years and there is no doubt that Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini which is presently in Nepal.

Earlier, Madhav Kumar, former prime minister of Nepal and head of the foreign affairs department of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal, also jumped into the fray, saying the Nepalese government should immediately take up the matter with the Indian government. While Nepali Congress spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma said that we have Indian External Affairs Minister S. There is ample evidence against Jaishankar's claim that the Buddha was born in Nepal.

The new name of Madi Nagar of Nepal is Ayodhyapuri

Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has asked to change the name of Madi municipality near Thori in Nepal to Ayodhyapuri. At the same time, it has been asked to take possession of the places around it and develop it as Ayodhya, to build a magnificent Ram temple at the birthplace of Rama and to install a huge statue of Rama-Sita and Lakshmana.

Two years later, Ram Navami unveiled the idol

According to a report by the National News Agency, Nepal's Prime Minister Oli has signaled the start of construction work for the Ram temple by offering land for the upcoming Dussehra. He has instructed to move ahead with the work so that the idol of God can be unveiled on the occasion of Ram Navami after two years.

The Government of Nepal has also assured financial assistance for the construction of the temple. Prime Minister Oli has said that along with Ayodhyapuri, the surrounding areas associated with Ramayana will also be developed. He also said that areas like Valmiki Ashram near Madi, forests during Sitaji's exile, birthplace of Lakulesh etc. would also be developed.
