A fire at the Kovid Care Center in Andhra Pradesh, killing 7 people, 40 people were present

A fire broke out at a hotel in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The hotel was being used as a coveted care center. People trapped in the hotel were evacuated after the fire broke out and fire tenders reached the spot and put out the fire.

The fire broke out at the Hotel Golden Palace and 40 people were present at the hotel at the time. Of those, 30 were corona patients while 10 were hotel staff. Vijayawada police said that 7 people were killed and 30 others were rescued in the accident. After much hard work the fire was brought under control and the injured were admitted to a nearby local hospital for treatment.

Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy himself took note of the whole tragedy and directed the authorities to provide better treatment to the injured. The entire building has been evacuated after the fire was contained and a large police force is deployed at the scene. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh expressed grief over the whole tragedy and ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Officials at the chief minister's office said a private hospital had rented the hotel and a preliminary investigation had revealed that Corona patients were being treated there. The Chief Minister has directed to provide better treatment to all the injured and at the same time directed all the authorities to properly investigate the case and hand over the report to them.
