China has conducted a survey on India's current Narendra Modi government, according to a Chinese media report.

According to a report in China's leading daily Global Times, 51 per cent favored Narendra Modi's government while 90 per cent favored China's military action against India.

However, the newspaper later removed the pro-Modi details of the survey from the front page. But the details were still on Twitter.

The survey was conducted by the Chinese government in collaboration with the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations. The survey raised a number of questions, including Narendra Modi's government, the Indian economy, and Indo-China relations. However, the survey did not make sense as only 1960 people in China, which has a larger population than India, were included in the survey. This figure is less than one percent of China's total population.

Seventy per cent of those surveyed believed that India was too hostile to China. These people welcomed the military action being taken by the Chinese government.

Ninety per cent of the people were in favor of military action by their government if India provoked them in the future as well. These people were also in favor of attacking India. These people ranked India fourth among the neighboring countries of their choice. The first three included Russia, Pakistan and Japan. The survey was conducted between August 17 and August 20 and covered the country's ten largest cities, the Global Times claimed.
