5 killed, 27 injured in bus fire in Karnataka's Chitradurga

A fire broke out in a private bus in Chitradurga, Karnataka, killing five people and injuring 27 others. A bus traveling from Bengaluru to Vijayapura suddenly caught fire on Chitradurga Highway. It was learned that there were 32 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. Five people, including two children and a woman, were killed in the accident.

The cause of the fire in the bus is due to a defect in the engine. SP Radhika of Hiriyur visited the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation. Twenty-seven people injured in the accident have been admitted to the district hospital and local police have registered an FIR and started investigating the case.
