The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an association of traders, has launched the 'Hindustani Rakhdi' campaign this year, which will cost China about Rs 4,000 crore.

According to CAT, about Rs 6,000 crore worth of ashes are traded in India every year on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. So far, China's contribution alone has been around Rs 4,000 crore. The group also sent 5,000 ashes to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, which will be delivered to troops deployed at the border.

CAT has launched a Hindustani ash campaign which will cost China about Rs 4,000 crore in trade. About 40,000 trade associations are affiliated with CAT and have about 70 million members nationwide. According to a statement issued by CAT, "India will launch a full-fledged Hindustani Rakhine campaign during this Rakshabandhan, which will cost China about Rs 4,000 crore."

Control over imports from China

Cat's Delhi-NCR coordinator Sushil Kumar Jain said, "Not only ready-made ashtrays, but also ash-making materials such as foam, paper foil, ash string, pearls, drops, decorative items, etc. used to be imported from China." But Kat's boycott of Chinese goods has not led to the import of Chinese goods for ash this year and is sure to cost China about Rs 4,000 crore.

How trade is done

It is estimated that about 50 crore ashes are traded in the country every year at a cost of about Rs 6,000 crore. This time all branches of the cat were clearly told not to sell Chinese ashes or related items. Not only that, this time huts, women's self-help groups, women working in anganwadi, artisans and others were also involved in the production and sale of ash.
