Yes, the Indian team lost the match by mistake

-A confession made by a former umpire

-Decision of Steve Buckner, who made the controversial decision

Former umpire Steve Buckner, who made more than one controversial decision in the 2008 Sydney Test between India and Australia, admitted that yes, it was because of my mistake that the Indian team lost the Test.

"I made two mistakes, not one," he said. During his career as an umpire, Buckner served as an umpire in 128 Test matches and 181 ODIs. He announced his retirement from the umpiring field in 2009.

Throughout his career as an umpire, Buckner did not create controversy, but the mistakes he made in the course of his career caused controversy at the international level.

More than one such mistake was made in the 2008 Sydney Test. India and Australia were playing in this Test. India lost the Sydney Test despite their hard work due to two mistakes made by Buckner.

"I made two mistakes in the 2008 Sydney Test," Buckner told a newspaper. My mistake when the Indian team was fielding nicely gave the Australian batsman a chance to score a century. The second mistake was made on the fifth day of the match which caused India to lose the match.

I am not the only umpire who makes such mistakes but these two mistakes are constantly disturbing. In five days I made two mistakes which made the outcome of the match decisive.

Buckner said that man only makes mistakes but one mistake should not be made a second time. I don't make excuses or even defend myself but sometimes the direction of the wind is such that some sounds are not heard. Commentators can hear such noises through the microphone but umpires cannot hear so there is a risk of making a decision.
