Terrorist attack on CRPF party in Sopore, head constable martyred, two jawans injured

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party has been attacked in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. One head constable of CRPF's 179 battalion was killed and two jawans were injured in the attack. A civilian was also killed in the firing by the militants. It is learned that the militants ambushed and attacked the patrolling party.

The firing took place at the CRPF's Naka party on Wednesday morning in Model Town, Sopore. Three civilians and a civilian were injured in the indiscriminate firing by the militants and all four were rushed to a hospital. Both a head constable and a civilian died during the treatment.

CRPF IG Rajesh Yadav confirmed that Deep Chand, a head constable, was killed in the attack. Another young man is currently in critical condition while another was not shot but was injured during the operation. Both are currently undergoing treatment.

A search operation is being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Army in the area where the militants attacked and the terrorists are being traced. The security forces have launched an operation to wipe out militants in the valley, in which 48 militants were killed in June, which has further inflamed the militants.

Clashes between security forces and militants continue in Tral amid terrorist attacks on the CRPF party. Security forces received inputs that two to three militants were hiding in Tral in Pulwama district and a search operation was launched. Meanwhile, militants opened fire on security forces.

The militants hurled a grenade at the army's 50 RR camp at Budgam on Monday. However the grenade did not fall on the camp and fell on the brick kiln. At the same time, the security forces and the police force reached the spot and recovered the situation. No casualties were reported in the attack and security forces conducted a search operation in the area.
