New delhi date. 13 July 2020, Monday

Ashok Gehlot's government is shaken after the rebellion of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress president and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and every moment is taking a new turn. Amidst the political crisis in Rajasthan, there was earlier speculation that the pilot would join the BJP today. However, putting an end to all speculations, Sachin Pilot has made it clear that he will not join the BJP.

The pilot arrived in Delhi yesterday. Where Sachin Pilot met former Congress ally and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday and their meeting lasted for about 40 minutes. After that, there was speculation that Sachin Pilot would also join the BJP.

30 MLAs support Sachin Pilot
The Rajasthan Congress is divided into two factions and each is making its own claim in these circumstances. According to Sachin Pilot's group, he has the support of 30 MLAs and others may join him. Very soon these MLAs may submit their resignations to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The Congress has been denying the allegations but has remained vigilant as only 75 Congress MLAs attended the meeting held at Ashok Gehlot's residence on Sunday night. According to Sachin Pilot, he has the support of about 30 MLAs and all of them are currently out of Jaipur with Sachin Pilot.

Find out what Rajasthan's number game is
In Rajasthan, the Congress and its allies have an absolute majority and the BJP is far away. Even if some MLAs change their party, there is no big crisis for the Rajasthan government. There are a total of 200 seats in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly out of which the Congress has 107 MLAs and apart from that it has the support of some independent MLAs. The BJP has only 72 MLAs in this regard. The Ashok Gehlot government could be in trouble if 30 MLAs defect, as claimed by Sachin Pilot.

Fighting across so many issues
In fact, the battle between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot has been going on since the Rajasthan Assembly elections. But the controversy has deepened in recent times when Ashok Gehlot has accused the BJP of overthrowing the government and at the same time warned some traitors within the party. A group was formed to probe him and sent a notice to Sachin Pilot for questioning. Although such a notice was also sent to the Chief Minister, the controversy escalated thereafter. Apart from this, Sachin Pilot's term as state president is coming to an end and by-elections and panchayat elections are also coming up in Rajasthan.
