Pro-India Nepali MP Sarita Giri's party and expelled from parliament

Nepal MP Sarita Giri has been sentenced for including the Indian territories of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura in the country's new map and for speaking the truth and opposing the government's move.

He has been removed from the Samajwadi Party as well as from the post of MP. Sarita Giri's fault was that she asked the Communist Party of Nepal government for support for constitutional reform.

According to a report in Nepali media Kantipur, the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament has announced that the seat of Samajwadi Party MP Sarita Giri has fallen vacant.

Parliamentary Secretary General Bharatraj Gautam informed that Sarita Giri was reportedly expelled by the party, after which she was also removed from the post as per the rules. Giri has been expelled from Parliament under Article 89 of the Constitution.

The Samajwadi Party has expelled him, saying he did not follow the party's whip. Sarita came under attack from the Communist Party of Nepal as well as her party for opposing the new map, Sarita Giri was threatened several times, her house was also attacked.

Sarita Giri asked the government on what basis these areas are being included in the new map. He said the government has no basis for claims on Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura.

He said that it was also against the order of the Supreme Court which had said that sufficient evidence was required to change any national symbol. The government has not provided any basis or evidence in the bill about the areas included in the new map.

KP Sharma Oli created a new map to quell growing protests against the government's failures. No leader was able to muster the courage to speak out on the issue of nationalism, but MP Sarita Giri protested in the House of Representatives. Samajwadi Party MP Sarita Giri, who opposed the new map, was dubbed the 'Cheli of India'.
