Priyanka Gandhi said, I will vacate the government bungalow by August 1

New Delhi, July 14, 2020, Tuesday

"I will vacate the government bungalow in Lodhi Estate area in New Delhi by August 1," Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi said today.

Priyanka Gandhi has denied reports that the government has agreed to allow her to stay in the bungalow for a while after her insistence.

"This is fake news. I have not made any request to the government. As per the notice sent to me by the government, I will vacate the government building by August 1," she said.

According to Congress sources, Priyanka Gandhi will now spend most of her time in UP as she is in charge of UP and will be staying at a house on Gokhale Marg in Lucknow. The building is currently vacant and is being repaired.

The house belongs to Sheila Kaul, who was the niece of the country's first PM Nehru and died in 2015.

It may be mentioned that Priyanka Gandhi's Z-plus security has been removed by the government and when this category of security is not available, the house facility is not available. Following which, the government has issued a notice to Priyanka to vacate the bungalow.
