One more tweak to China, the US could ban Chinese apps, including TikTok

Washington, Ta. 7 July 2020, Tuesday

It is happening exactly as expected. China is now feeling the brunt of India's ban on 59 Chinese applications. The United States is also seriously considering banning mobile apps, including China's TikTok.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made the announcement late Monday night. "We are definitely considering banning Chinese apps," he said. The demand for banning Chinese apps is also growing in Australia. The Chinese company has lost about છ 6 billion due to the Tiktok ban in India.

Earlier in the day, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok. The Chinese companies then requested the government not to share the data of Indian users with the Chinese government. In a letter to the Indian government, Kevin Meyer, CEO of Tiktok, said that the Chinese government had never asked for user data.

Surprisingly, Tiktok is currently banned in India but has been banned in China for a long time. However, the company that owns this app (ByteDance) is Chinese. It has distanced itself from Beijing since the ban was imposed by the Indian government. The company has been making it clear that the data of Indian users is being saved on Singapore's servers and the Chinese government has never asked for the data and the company will never meet this demand.

Tiktok was launched in 2017

ByteDance was founded in 2012 and the company launched the Douyin app for the Chinese market in 2016. It's the same app as TikTok but it's working there following strict rules. Then in 2017, Baitdance launched Tiktok in the world market.

This app is banned in China or it could be said that it was not launched in the Chinese market because there are many items banned. The company has used different servers for both apps.
