Now the controversy over the time of Bhumi Pujan of Ram temple

New delhi date. Thursday 23 July 2020

A date has been fixed for commencement of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay homage to Bhumi in Ayodhya on August 5, but now a new controversy has arisen over the date and moment of Bhumi Pujan.

Shankaracharya Swaroopananda Saraswati has termed the time prepared for Bhumi Pujan as inauspicious. He says that August 5 is the second date of Dakshinayan Bhadrapad Mass Krishna Paksha.

In the scriptures, Bhadrapad Mass is forbidden for home, temple opening work. He has said this with reference to Vishnu Dharma Shastra and Naivajna Vallabh Granth. Kashi dismissed Shankaracharya's arguments of the Widowhood Council as baseless and said that how could Brahman Nayak Ram question his temple.

Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati said that I am a devotee of Ram and whoever builds a Ram temple we will be happy with it but it should be built at a proper date and auspicious moment. At the same time, he said that if the temple is being built with public money, their advice should also be sought.
