Washington, Ta. Wednesday 29 July 2020

Is Russia plotting to influence the US presidential election? The question arose after reports surfaced claiming that Russia was spreading false information about the United States through the Corona virus.

Russia's foreign intelligence service has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating "Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia's intelligence have been made more than once. However the Donald Trump administration could be blamed for the virus in the eyes of American voters.

According to the report, the Russian agency is saying that the Corona virus is a day of the US military and Russia can help the US in finding a solution. Allegedly in 2016, Russia similarly used social media accounts and other means of the Internet to spread misinformation.

Alert issued by private department
