Indian Army bans 89 apps, including Facebook

The Indian Army has banned 89 apps and instructed its officers and staff to immediately remove the banned app from their smartphones.

The military has banned messaging platforms, web browsers, content sharing, gaming, etc. apps. These include Facebook, TikTalk, TrueColor, Instagram, UC Browser, PUBG etc.

According to sources, there is a risk of leaking instructions behind the action.


Messaging Platforms: WeChat, QQ, Kick, Aww, Nimbus, Hello, Q Zone, Share Chat, Viber, Line, IMO, Snow, Toe Talk, Hike,

Video Hosting: Tiktok, Laiki, Samosa, Qwali,

Content Sharing: Share Chat, Xander, Japya,

Web Browser: Includes UC Browser, UC Browser Mini etc.
