In Rajasthan, Governor Mishra got the majority claim of CM Gehlot

Congress engaged in infighting at a time when farmers, women are facing problems among the corona in the state: Vasundhara Raje

Jaipur, Ta. Sunday, July 18, 2020

The political crisis that has been raging in Rajasthan for a week is seeing new colors every day. At one point, the pilot group Gehlot was expected to overthrow the government, but in the last two-three days, Gehlot's fortunes have strengthened.

Now late on Saturday evening, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached the Raj Bhavan and met Governor Kalraj Mishra, claiming he had a majority. Gehlot also handed over to the governor a list of 102 MLAs who supported him.

According to the legislature's equation, a majority requires the support of 101 legislators. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has the support of 100 Congress MLAs, including the Assembly Speaker. Today, two BTP MLAs have also expressed support for Gehlot.

Earlier in the Rajya Sabha, the Indian Tribal Party (BTP) had spoken of remaining neutral in the infighting. But he held a joint press conference with the Congress on Saturday and expressed confidence in Ashok Gehlot's elected government.

The BTP had earlier issued a whip ordering neither Gehlot nor Pilot to support any group. Now the BTP has backed Gehlot, saying that if there is a floor test, they will only support the Gehlot-led Congress.

On the other hand, Vasundhara Raje finally broke her silence on the issue of political turmoil in Rajasthan on the second day after former BJP chief minister Vasundhara Raje accused the NDA's ally of shielding the Gehlot government.

He tweeted that he considered Gehlot's allegations that Congress MLAs were horse-trading by the BJP "unfortunate". He added that the Congress should not drag BJP leaders into its infighting. Besides, the people of Rajasthan are having to bear the cost of the infighting of the Congress.

He added that more than 500 people have died due to coronary heart disease in Rajasthan and the number of coronary heart disease patients has crossed 28,500. At a time when locusts are invading farmers' fields, the Congress is engaged in an internal battle and is involving the BJP in their fight, which is unfortunate.

In the midst of this political turmoil, the court granted a four-day remand to Sanjay Jain, accused in the Horse Trading case of the SOGA MLAs of Rajasthan Police.

Meanwhile, two accused BJP leaders, Ashok Singh and Bharat Malani, of an alleged audio tape that went viral on social media about the MLAs' horse trading, had applied to the court to take a voice sample. But both defendants refused to provide a voice sample.

BJP demands CBI probe into phone tapping issue

New Delhi, Dt

The BJP, which has taken an aggressive stance against the Congress in the political crisis in Rajasthan, has accused the government in Rajasthan of illegally tapping leaders' phones. He also demanded a CBI probe into the issue. He questioned Chief Minister Gehlot and the Congress that people's phones were being tapped in Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan government is publicly saying that this audio tape is completely correct. If so, the question arises that the phones of the leaders are being tapped in Rajasthan? Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have to answer this question. If the government is tapping the phone, does it follow the standard operating procedure?
