In the midst of the Corona epidemic, the government made masks and sanitizers off the list of essentials

New Delhi, July 8, 2020, Wednesday

Masks and sanitizers have been removed from the list of essential items in the face of increasing cases of coronavirus in the country. This decision raises a big question mark against the government in this time of epidemic. At the time of the lockdown, sanitizers and mask makers had appealed to the central government, but the center rejected the appeal.

In a letter to the Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Indian Medical Device Industry, he said that cases of coronavirus were on the rise in the country. It was necessary to keep 2-3 PLY masks on the list of essentials for the next six months. However, there was talk of a review of the sanitizer.

However, rejecting the advice, the government released a new list of essential items on July 1, which did not include sanitizers and masks. AIMED told the government on June 30 that as the unlock has begun, people are rushing out of the house, so masks and sanitizers will be needed.

Rajiv Nath, AiMeD's forum coordinator, said, "We also talked about capping the prices of these two items. While masks and sanitizers are being removed from the list of essentials, prices are likely to go up." But the price of these items cannot be increased by 10% for one year.

However, PWMAI President Dr. Sanjeev Rehlan said that now the country is producing a lot of masks and sanitizers. Deleting a name from the list will not cause any trouble and will not affect the supply as well as the price.

The demand for masks and sanitizers has increased in the country due to the outbreak of Corona virus. As a result, the government added it to the list of essential items in March, although the price of 100ML sanitizer is Rs 100. Cannot take more than If anything is on the list of essential goods, its black market stops.
