Implementing Work from Home till 31st December, the Central Government extended the time limit

The central government had announced an extension of the work-from-home deadline for some companies to December 31. The Department of Telecommunications had even formally announced the matter.

Currently, 90 per cent of employees in IT companies are believed to be working from home. The deadline was July 31st. The central government has now announced that the deadline will be extended to December 31. Welcoming the decision, Nasscom President Debjani Ghosh said, "This decision will keep the business going and the employees will be safe. At the same time, it will be convenient for companies to find good employees in second- and third-tier cities.

The deadline is being extended to the IT, BPO sector and other service companies, a spokesperson said.

The Department of Telecommunications said in a late night tweet that in view of the Corona epidemic and understanding of the concerns among the people, the Department of Telecommunications extended the deadline for work from home from July 31 to December 31. Currently, more than 85% of IT employees are working from home. Only the most important and indispensable employees go to the office.

It may be recalled here that by the night of Wednesday, July 22, the number of corona cases had increased to 11.55 lakh. So far 28,084 people have died due to the corona.

This rule does not apply to so-called essential services such as police, media, medical staff, medical stores, etc. People involved in life-saving services were relieved to work even in the midst of a corona infection.
