The Haryana government has ordered the confiscation of the Gandhi-Nehru family's assets. Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora has directed the Haryana Urban Local Bodies Department to inspect the properties. In fact, according to one allegation, several properties were amassed in Haryana in the name of the Gandhi-Nehru family between 2005 and 2010.

Haryana was ruled by Bhupendra Singh Hooda from 2005 to 2014. Allegedly, during that time, several Congress trusts and several assets were amassed for the Gandhi-Nehru family. An investigation into some of these properties is already underway. Now, after a letter from the central government, an inquiry has been ordered into the remaining assets of the Gandhi-Nehru family.

Center writes letter to Haryana government

The Center has directed the Haryana government to investigate assets belonging to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora has since handed over the investigation to the Urban Local Bodies Department.

Investigation of all the three trusts by the Center

The central government had ordered an inquiry into the trusts and foundations associated with the Gandhi-Nehru family following reports of funding from the Communist Party of China and the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust are to be investigated and a committee has been formed for that.

The committee will look into the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust and the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust to investigate a number of alleged violations of the law, including money laundering and foreign funds. According to a Home Ministry spokesperson, the team will be led by a special ED director.

Rahul's target on Modi government

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had targeted the Modi government over the probe into a trust linked to the Gandhi-Nehru family. According to Rahul, PM Modi feels that the whole world is like him. He thinks that everyone has a price that everyone can be intimidated but he never understands that those who fight for truth cannot be bought or intimidated.
