Beware, don't vote for Congress

- Mayawati sent a whip to her MLAs

-A new turn in the drama of Rajasthan

Jaipur Ta. 27 July 2020, Monday

BSP President Mayawati had sent a whip to her party's MLAs in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, ordering them not to vote for the Congress in a vote of confidence. Mayawati's whip created a new twist in Rajasthan's political drama.

It may be recalled here that last year, six BSP MLAs announced their resignation from the BSP to join the Congress. BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra said in a public statement that the BSP is a national party and as per the fourth paragraph of Article 10 of the Constitution, no state legislator can make such a move unless the BSP is merged everywhere in the legislatures across the country.

Apparently, this step was taken to thwart every tactic of the Congress party and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Mishra further said that if these six members go against the party's whip and vote in favor of the government, their legislature will be canceled and they will have to be ready to contest the elections again.

Mishra further said that six separate notices have been sent to the six MLAs instructing them not to vote in favor of the Congress under any circumstances.

However Gehlot is mustache on his move and he smiled mysteriously when he heard this whip. Considering the fact that if the BJP can buy MLAs by offering large sums of money, the Congress can play the same game.

At present, new twists and turns are being created in the politics of Rajasthan every morning. If the Supreme Court today rejects the secession of the Sachin Pilot Group, the situation of the Sachin Pilot Group will be like that of a launderer's dog, not at home.
