Atrocities on Uighurs, US bans three Chinese officials

Washington, Ta. 10 July 2020, Friday

The United States has banned three senior Chinese Communist Party officials for violating the human rights of Uighur Muslims in China's Muslim-majority province of Xinjiang. China has already been accused of harassing Uighur Muslims, and the United States has warned of "severe action" against China. According to a report, the US is also considering taking action against several Chinese officials in the future.

Ban on these three officers

The three officials banned by the United States include Chen Kwango, secretary of the Chinese Communist Party of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), Xu Halun, secretary of the Xinjiang Political and Legal Committee, and the current party secretary of the Xinjiang Public Security Bureau. Apart from these three, their family members have also been disqualified from entering the United States.

U.S. visa ban on Tibetan officials

The United States has announced new visa bans on senior Chinese nationals involved in blocking foreign access to Tibet. Not only that, the US has reiterated its support for the meaningful autonomy of the Tibetan people to dam China. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he was taking action against several Chinese officials, including some members of the ruling Communist Party in China, under U.S. law calling for the entry of Americans into Tibet.

US support for Tibetan autonomy

The United States has reaffirmed its support for the meaningful autonomy of the Tibetan people. "We are committed to working to preserve the basic human rights of the Tibetan people and their inalienable human rights, their specific religion, culture and linguistic identity," he said. The Dalai Lama, a Tibetan exiled religious leader living in India, demands meaningful autonomy for the Tibetan people, but China considers the 85-year-old Dalai Lama a separatist.

Dispute between America and China on this issue

The main reason for the dispute between the US and China is to increase its power in the world. The Corona virus after the trade war, the new security law in Hong Kong, the hegemony in the South China Sea, India's aggressive stance against India-Japan-Australia and Taiwan, the ban on American journalists, the genocide of Uyghurs and the ongoing dispute between the two countries over Tibet.
