A meeting of Lieutenant General rank officers between India and China is likely to be held next week

The fourth round of talks between Indian and Chinese lieutenant general rank officials will take place next week. Sources have given this information. The meeting will discuss ways to reduce tensions at the border.

According to sources, the next meeting will discuss setting a timeline for the removal of thousands of troops, guns, tanks, weapons, rocket launchers, missiles and fighter jets deployed at the border. The retreat of 45,000 troops on both sides of the LAC will also be discussed.

It may be mentioned that the first two talks were held in Moldo, China and once in Chushul, India. This time the issue will be discussed under the agenda of the talks which was agreed upon in the meeting held on June 30. Earlier, a meeting between Lieutenant General rank officers was held between June 06 and June 22 in Moldo, China and June 30 in Chushul, India.

Violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley in eastern Ladakh on June 15 left 20 Indian soldiers dead and 45 Chinese soldiers reported dead.

A meeting between Indian and Chinese lieutenant general rank officials on June 30 after violent clashes in Ladakh agreed on a formula to reduce tensions in Galwan Valley, Hot Spring, Pangong Tso and Godhra. Under which both the parties have started retreating from one and a half to two km.
