Uddhav Thackeray to demand PM Modi to formulate national policy on Chinese investment in all-party meeting

An all-party meeting will be held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ongoing dispute between India and China. The meeting will be attended by leaders of a total of 17 political forces. Then Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray may demand a national policy on Chinese investment at the meeting. According to a report, the Maharashtra Chief Minister will raise the issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in today's meeting. They can demand a national policy on China's investment as well as a policy for projects with it.

Shiv Sena demands that the central government formulate a policy that sets out some rules and policy on investments made by Chinese companies in India, investment in Indian projects.

It may be recalled that on June 15, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley area and since then, there has been widespread anger against China across the country. People are taking to the streets in different cities of the country to protest against China.

Strict attitude of the Government of India

Indian Railways on Thursday canceled a contract awarded to a Chinese company. About four years ago the Chinese company was contracted to install the signal system but it worked at a very slow pace. The government canceled the contract in the name of taking action against the negligence.

Apart from that, a few days ago, the government had asked other telecom companies, including BSNL-MTNL, to reduce their dependence on Chinese goods.

The meeting, to be held this evening, will be attended by leaders of a total of 17 political parties. Sonia Gandhi, Mayawati, Sharad Pawar, Nitish Kumar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav and many other veteran leaders will take part in the meeting.
