The WHO has issued a stern warning about this frequently used drug

Geneva, Ta. 02 June 2020 Tuesday

The World Health Organization said the increased use of antibiotics during the Corona epidemic increased the risk. The WHO said that overuse of antibiotics is increasing the resistance of bacteria and this will now lead to more deaths.

According to the report, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanum Ghebriasus said the adverse effects of overuse of antibiotics would be seen not only during the Corona epidemic, but also in later times.

The WHO expressed concern over the increased use of antibiotics, saying the trend could increase during the corona virus crisis. On Monday, Ghebriasus said there has been an increase in such cases in which patients infected with the bacteria are not being affected by those drugs. The drugs by which he was recovering earlier.

The use of antibiotics has increased during the Corona epidemic, Ghebriasus said. This will increase the number of patients and deaths.

The WHO director general said only a few patients with corona need antibiotics. He has appealed to doctors not to use antibiotic therapy on patients with common symptoms of corona unless a bacterial infection occurs.

Tedros adhenum ghebriesus has identified antimicrobial resistance as one of the biggest challenges to date. He said it was clear that the world was losing the ability to use much-needed antimicrobial drugs.

He also said that antibiotics were being overused especially in some countries while people in poor countries were suffering and dying due to lack of medicines.
