The country is fighting against Corona, India's position is better than some other countries: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called on Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma delivered the inaugural address via video conferencing at the Metropolitan's 90th birth anniversary celebrations. Some followers of Mar Thomas Church from India and abroad participated in the program. In his address, he said the world is currently fighting a strong fight against the global epidemic Corona virus. Covid-19 is not only a physical illness that is life threatening but it also draws our attention to unhealthy lifestyles.

The Prime Minister said, "You will be happy to know that with the help of our Corona warriors, India is fighting the Kovid-19 with vigor. Earlier this year, some people predicted that the impact of the virus in India would be very serious. India is much better than some other countries because of some of the fight initiatives run by the government and the people due to the lockdown. The recovery rate in India is increasing.

Prime Minister Modi said, "People based struggle has given good results so far but can we ignore this issue?" Not at all. We need to be more careful now. It is still necessary to wear a mask, social distance, two yards away, away from crowded places. In the last few weeks, the Government of India has addressed both short-term and long-term issues related to the economy. From the sea to space, from farms to factories, decisions have been made to suit the people and to develop them.

Prime Minister Modi said that I am Dr. I wish Joseph all the best and I wish him a long life and good health. Dr. Joseph Mar Thomas dedicated his life to the good of our society and nation. He was particularly passionate about poverty alleviation and women's empowerment. Mar Thomas Church is closely associated with the great ideals of St. Thomas, the apostles of the Lord Christ.
