Srinagar, Ta. 9 June 2020, Tuesday

The killing of a Kashmiri Pandit sarpanch by terrorists in Kashmir has caused a stir. The impact of the incident is also being felt in the United States, where Kashmiri pundits have criticized the incident and called on the government to crack down on terrorists.

Earlier, Ajay Pandita, sarpanch of Larkipora in Anantnag district, was killed by terrorists. The killer terrorists later escaped. A statement issued by the Indo-American Kashmir Forum (IAKF) condemning the killings said that the Pandits were still not safe in Kashmir and their killings were continuing. The killing is reminiscent of the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits in 1905.

Ajay alias Bharti is a Kashmiri Pandit who was killed in Anantnag, Kashmir. He was associated with the Congress party. According to locals, the sarpanch's family migrated in 190, but returned only two years ago. The killer terrorists have not been caught yet, which has led to increasing pressure on the government by pundits' organizations to take appropriate action.
