Operation to repatriate Chinese nationals from India begins

Beijing, Ta. 9 June 2020, Tuesday

China has launched an operation to recall its citizens amid ongoing tensions between India and China. Many Chinese nationals were trapped in India due to the closure of airspace during the Corona. In the midst of the Corona transition, China avoided recalling its citizens. Now China has started sending chartered planes for the return of those citizens. According to a report in China's official newspaper Global Times, China will take Chinese nationals from cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. China had earlier handed over the task of compiling a list of citizens to the Delhi-based embassy. The embassy compiled a list of about 3,000 citizens stranded in different parts of India. Three planes will carry civilians from India. However, China also said that the cost of the ticket would have to be borne by the citizens.
