Now the AC coach of the train will get fresh air like an operation theater: Indian Railways

New delhi date. Monday, June 29, 2020

Indian Railways has made some changes in the train in view of the growing case of Corona. The coaches of the AC trains of the railways will now get fresh air like the operation theater, which will reduce the risk of spreading the transition.

According to information, railway officials said that the experiment has been carried out in 15 AC trains started by the railways on May 12 on the Rajdhani route. This is part of the railway's preparations for the operation of the train in the post-Covid-19 situation.

"The Roof Mounted AC Package (RMPU) installed in the AC coaches of the Indian Railways changes the air more than 16-18 times per hour as in an operation theater," the official said. Earlier, these AC coaches used to change the air 6 to 8 times per hour and 80 per cent of the air in the box was re-circulated while only 20 per cent got fresh air. As the number of changes in the air increases, energy consumption will also increase by 10 to 15 per cent.

The official said, "This price has to be paid for the safety of the passengers. The way the AC works it uses a second circulating air, so the coach cools down faster. When we use fresh air, it will take a little longer for the coach to cool down, so more energy will be used.

The temperature of the AC in the coach was increased

The railways have also increased the temperature of centralized AC from the normal 23 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius as sheets will no longer be made available to passengers. Officials said that on the advice of health experts, the Railways has modified coaches without AC as a separate coach for common cases of corona virus.

Indian Railways has also implemented the guidelines of the Ministry of Health to change the AC unit in special capital trains to prevent the spread of the disease.
