More corona drugs can be approved and given to critically ill patients

Another corona virus drug has been approved in India. The drug firm Hetero said on Sunday it was going to launch an investigative antiviral drug, remedesivir, to treat Covid-19. The company has received approval from the Drug Control General of India (DGCI). The drug will be sold under the name Covifor.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has previously been approved to launch a generic version of Favipiravir for the treatment of corona. Glenmark has launched this drug under the name Fabiflu.

According to the company, DGCI has approved the use of the drug in the treatment of suspected and confirmed patients with Covid-19. This drug can be given to critically ill patients. The company said Covifor's approval could be a game changer given the growing number of Corona cases in India as its clinical outcomes have been positive. The company claims that it is ready to deliver immediate medicine to patients across the country.

The drug will be available in injectable. This will be given under the supervision of a doctor or healthcare worker. The company has entered into an agreement with a US company for this drug to increase the corona treatment limit. "We are ready to provide the required stock to meet the current requirement," the company said.
