Modi government unlocks petrol-diesel prices: Rahul Gandhi

New delhi date. 24 June 2020, Wednesday

The country is witnessing a historic rise in petrol and diesel prices. This is the first time that the price of diesel has gone up in Delhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is now targeting Narendra Modi's government at the Center. Rahul Gandhi shared a chart on Wednesday and wrote that the government has unlocked the price of Corona and petrol-diesel.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote in his tweet, "Modi government has unlocked the Koro epidemic and petrol-diesel prices." Petrol and diesel prices have been rising steadily for the last 18 days. However, it was only on Wednesday that petrol prices did not go up but diesel prices went up again.

Diesel price has been hiked by 48 paise today, Wednesday. In Delhi, a liter of diesel now costs Rs 79.88 per liter while petrol costs Rs 79.40 per liter. If we talk about the Corona virus, Rahul Gandhi is constantly calling the lockdown imposed by the Modi government a failure. Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly mentioned in his address that India is the only country where the lockdown is being lifted at a time when cases of the corona virus are on the rise.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, other opposition parties are also constantly questioning the government. A few days ago, Congress president Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue, saying the government should reverse the price hike.

Sonia Gandhi wrote that the government is imposing a burden on the general public by raising petrol and diesel prices at a time when jobs are being lost due to the Koro crisis and lockdowns. Congress leader Digvijay Singh also quipped that the government saw the disaster as an opportunity.
