Maharashtra government also bans 3 Chinese projects worth Rs 5,000 crore

After the central government, now the Maharashtra government has taken a big decision regarding Chinese projects. Maharashtra's Uddhav Thackeray government has suspended contracts with three Chinese companies.

It is said that at the Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0 Summit, the state government signed a Rs 5,000 crore investment project with three Chinese companies.

"We have taken this decision on the advice of the central government," said Maharashtra Industry Minister Subhash Desai. He said the agreements were signed before 20 Indian soldiers were killed on the Indo-China border.

He said the External Affairs Ministry has advised the state government not to sign any other agreements with Chinese companies.

He said that at the Magnetic Maharashtra 2.0 Summit, the state government had signed agreements worth over Rs 16,000 crore with companies from all over the world, including Chinese companies.

It has signed an agreement with Great Wall Motors of China to set up an automobile manufacturing unit at Talegaon in Pune. A MoU worth Rs 3,770 crore was signed, including a Rs 1,000 crore partnership between China's Photon and PMI Electro Mobility.

In addition, Hanglu Engineering has committed Rs 250 crore for expansion projects in its Union Phase 2 in Pune.
