Lockdown in West Bengal extended till June 30 due to rising cases of corona virus

The state government has decided to extend the lockdown till June 30 in view of the rising number of coronavirus infected patients in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a video conferencing on Monday.

As many as 449 new cases of corona virus have been reported in the state till 8 am on Monday, bringing the number of corona virus infections to 8,187, with 3,303 cases being cured and 396 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Out of a total of 8187 cases reported in the state, Kolkata has the highest number of Kovid-19 cases, with 184 cases reported here. There were 79 cases in Howrah, 46 in North 24 Parganas, 21 in East Medanipur and 12 in Hooghly.

West Bengal ranks No. 8 in the total number of cases in all the states and union territories of India, Maharashtra has 85975 cases of corona virus, which is the highest among all the states in India.
