India's readiness to face China, 134 satellite phone terminals to be set up in Ladakh

Ladakh, Ta. Saturday, June 27, 2020

The Indian Army is ready to respond to every move of China in Ladakh so that China can be taught a lesson if it does anything wrong. India's preparations are not limited to the deployment of ammunition and weapons but India has now begun to connect all the border areas in Ladakh, fitting the means of communication there.

India's campaign is similar to military preparations. The Central Government has prepared a new plan to strengthen communication facilities in the border villages of Ladakh. The government plans to set up 134 digital satellite phone terminals in Ladakh.

Kunchok Stanji, executive councilor of Ladakh, said the communication system in 57 villages of Ladakh would be strengthened soon. Efforts were being made for that for eight years. Currently 24 mobile towers have been approved for Leh but 25 more are needed.

Rs 336.89 crore will be spent for connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. If we talk about Ladakh alone, it will cost Rs 57.4 crore. This will enable people in many villages of Jammu and Kashmir to avail the phone facility.

Important areas in Ladakh that have got satellite phone connection include Galwan Valley, Dolat Bag Oldi, Hot Springs, Chushul. All of these areas are adjacent to the Line of Actual Control.

There was a recent conflict with China at Galvan Valley while the Indian Army base is located at Dolat Bagh Oldi. For a long time there was a demand for repairing the communication system in this place. Kunchok Stanji, executive councilor of Ladakh, said China has expanded the phone network within its borders. Their network conditions there are good.

India too has now started working in that direction. Due to the heterogeneous geographical situation here, every village needs a mobile tower. This is why more towers are needed here. Many villages along the border still have network problems. Hopefully the new mobile network will solve the problem of the people here.
