In Madhya Pradesh, polling for three Rajya Sabha seats has been completed in which 206 MLAs exercised their vote. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath also cast their votes. While Congress MLA Krunal Chaudhary, who was infected with Corona, also reached the Madhya Pradesh Assembly wearing a PPE kit.

Voting began at 9:00 a.m. and ended before 4 p.m. The last time Koro positive MLA Krunal Chaudhary arrived for the polls and at that time all the people in the assembly premises were standing away. Krunal Chaudhary is the MLA of Kalapipal seat of Shajapur district and is also associated with the Youth Congress. He was infected with corona a few days ago and is undergoing treatment in Bhopal. Although now his health is improving. The Legislative Secretariat arranged for a post ballot for the sick legislators but no one applied for it. Ever since then, there has been speculation that Krunal Chaudhary will come to the polls wearing a PPE kit.

The premises were sanitized

After Krunal Chaudhary left the assembly premises after the polls, the entire premises were sanitized and the polling place was also sanitized. The entire arrangement was made by the Legislative Secretariat before the polling and the staff involved in the election process were standing at a distance at the time of polling. Even before Krunal Chaudhary arrived, the rest of the MLAs had exercised their vote.

CM and former CM voted

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh reached the assembly in the morning when voting for the Rajya Sabha began. He left the campus to exercise his vote as he had to participate in several government programs. The BJP has fielded Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sumer Singh Solanki and the victory of both is clear.

Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath also took the Congress MLAs from his residence to the Assembly in the morning and cast his vote with them. Digvijay Singh is the Congress candidate for the preferred seat and Phool Singh Baraiya is in the second seat. A meeting is going on in the account of Congress.

There are a total of 230 seats in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the current effective number is 206 as 24 seats are vacant. There are 107 MLAs from BJP, 92 from Congress, 2-2 from BSP and SP and 4 independent MLAs. In these circumstances any candidate for election to the Rajya Sabha has to get 52 votes. Given this strength, both the BJP candidates are in a good position to win this election.
