Delhi: Congress protests against rising petrol-diesel prices, activists detained

The Congress party is protesting today over rising petrol and diesel prices amid the Koro crisis. On Monday, Delhi Congress activists were on their way to protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lt Governor Anil Baijal. So the Delhi Police has detained all of them.


Congress activists arrived outside the Chief Minister's residence to picket. Delhi currently has the highest price of diesel and petrol. Petrol and diesel prices were also hiked in Delhi on Monday. In Delhi, petrol has gone up by 5 paise to Rs 80.43 and diesel by 13 paise to Rs 80.53.

Rahul Gandhi shared a video and tweeted that let's join the #SpeakUpAgainstFuelHike Campaign. In a video that Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Monday, he said that amid the Koro crisis and the deteriorating situation with China, the government has left the common man to its own devices. "People do not have jobs and the central government has been raising prices every day for 21 days," it said.

Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had written a letter to Prime Minister Modi on the issue. Sonia Gandhi had appealed to the government to reverse the price hike as people are facing employment crisis at the moment.
