The top law-making body in China will hold a three-day session by the end of this month. At the same time, the possibility of enforcing the national security law created for Hong Kong has increased. China's proposed legislation has created an atmosphere of fear with tensions in the semi-autonomous region.

According to a report, a meeting of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress will be held in Beijing from June 28 to 30. The meeting is taking place just a week after the three-day session ended on Saturday, which is unusual as the NPC's standing committee usually meets every two months.

In this regard, China plans to set up a special bureau in Hong Kong to investigate and prosecute crimes that pose a threat to national security. News published in the state media on Saturday provided some information about the new controversial national security law being implemented in Hong Kong.

According to a report, all government departments in Hong Kong, from finance to immigration, will be directly accountable to the central government in Beijing.

China's legislature on Thursday passed a draft of a national security bill for Hong Kong. The law accuses China of undermining the laws and political institutions of semi-autonomous Hong Kong.

The bill was reviewed by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China regarding four categories of crime. These include succession, the cessation of state power, local terrorist activity and endangering national security in conjunction with foreign or external power.
