CBI court order: Record the statement of the accused in the Babri case through video conferencing



New delhi date. 21 June 2020, Sunday

A special CBI court hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case on Saturday directed the National Center for Information Science (NIC) in Lucknow to arrange video conferencing to record the statements of nine accused, including former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani.

Special Judge SK Yadav said, "The NIC should write to the residence of the accused to ensure video conferencing facility, the list of which is attached to this order." The court office instructs the NIC under the Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology to comply with the order.

The list includes veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Acharya Dharmendra Dev, RN Srivastava, Jai Bhagwan Goyal, Amarnath Goyal and Sudhir Kakkad. Is. The statements of these accused are to be recorded under Section 313 of the CRPC.

According to a report, the court has compiled a list of about 1,000 questions to ask almost all the accused. The trial court has framed questions from the prosecution agency CBI on the basis of the accused and witnesses. CBI counsel Lalit Singh said, "The special court informs an accused about the special facts and evidence which came before him during the case against him and later he is asked to state what he wants to say about it."
