Army Alert, PM-Foreign Ministry's tough stance, India is besieging China from all sides

New delhi date. 18 June 2020, Thursday

Tensions have risen since a clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley near Ladakh left 20 Indians dead and sparked outrage across the country over the incident, which is also having an impact on the government. While China has betrayed the country many times, this time neither the government nor the army wants to make any concessions and China is being attacked from all sides to give a harsh response. Take a look at the movement that is widespread after the martyrdom of 20 soldiers.

The army's alert level increased

Clashes erupted between the two countries' troops over Chinese troops refusing to return in violation of an agreement reached in the Galvan Valley. It killed 20 Indian soldiers and severely damaged China. A little too much peace has prevailed since then but China has not yet fully retreated so the military is on alert. The army's alert has been heightened not only near the Ladakh border but also along the entire Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Uttarakhand, including the border with China. Apart from that, a large number of army trucks are moving towards Ladakh.

Road construction work accelerated in Ladakh

At the same time, the pace of road construction in India has been accelerated. China has the biggest objection to the construction of this road as it will make it easier for the Indian Army to reach the border. Despite the tensions, India has decided to continue road construction and has sent 1,500 laborers to Ladakh to speed it up. Some workers returned at the time of the lockdown but have also been sent back.

The Prime Minister's harsh attitude

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Wednesday address paid tributes to the martyrs and also sent a strong message to China. "India does not provoke anyone but India knows how to respond appropriately if our troops are killed in such a provocative manner," he said. He also said that the martyrdom of these jawans would not go in vain.

After the Prime Minister's statement, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had a phone conversation with the Chinese Foreign Minister in which he described the Galwan incident as a conspiracy with China's full readiness. In response to the Chinese Foreign Ministry claiming that Galvan was its own, India said such baseless talks would weaken the agreement.

Defeat China on the economic front

Outrage has spread across the country after the martyrdom of the soldiers and people have taken to the streets in many cities. In the midst of all this, the government has also decided to push China back on economic issues. The Department of Telecom has directed BSNL to reduce the use of Made in China products in its department. Apart from that, the tender for 4G has been asked to be canceled so that Chinese companies cannot be a part of it. Consideration is being given to cancel the contract with China for the regional rapid transit system starting from Delhi to Meerut.

Australia and America activity

India is preparing to encircle China not only militarily and economically but also diplomatically. The State Department has briefed allies on the whole incident, and US President Donald Trump recently issued a decree imposing sanctions on Chinese officials. This sanction will be for the atrocities being perpetrated by China on Uighur Muslims and the US is monitoring the ongoing activities between India and China.

Apart from the US, Australia has also given full support to India on this whole issue. Australian Ambassador Barry O'Farrell said India and Australia follow the rules and regulations enacted after World War II, but China did not.
