Army Achievement: Built the Bailey Bridge connecting China to the border in just 6 days

Pithoragarh, Saturday 27 June 2020

The Bailey Bridge at Munsyari in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, was constructed for the second time six days ago. Two were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The Border Roads Organization (BRO) has completed the new bridge in just 6 days after a lot of hard work.

The construction of the Bailey Bridge will alleviate the difficulties faced by Army and ITBP personnel in reaching the Chinese border, and military supplies will also be easily transported to Milam. The BRO used a Pokland machine with 70 workers to build the 120-foot-long bridge.

Link bridge to deliver goods to the Chinese border

Built at Dhapa in Munsyari, this bridge is strategically important and connects the border village of Milam with the rest of Uttarakhand. Construction of a 65-kilometer road from Milam to the Chinese border is in full swing.

For this, heavy machinery and construction materials used to cut mountains and move debris are being delivered to Milam.

The collapse of the bridge affected the work of cutting down the mountains in the middle of the road connecting China, but the BRO has given a big relief by completing the bridge in 6 days.
