Announcement of boycott of Chinese goods is unnecessary, China will not care much: P. Chidambaram

New delhi date. 20. Saturday, June, 2020

Anger against China has erupted across the country after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a Chinese military coup on the Ladakh front.

Former finance minister and Congress leader P. Chidambaram says the boycott campaign for Chinese goods will not make much difference to China as the country's boycott of Chinese products is on the rise.

In his video message, Chidambaram also questioned China's intrusion and the government's silence. He also targeted PM Modi's statement at the all-party meeting.

"We have to be as self-reliant as possible but at the same time India has to be a part of the global supply chain. We should not boycott Chinese goods. Compared to world trade, the share of Indian and Chinese traders is very small. The boycott is not going to hurt its economy. When we are talking about a serious issue like the security of the country, it is not appropriate to bring an issue like a boycott.

He said that according to the PM, when there was no intrusion on India's border, it meant that the PM himself was dismissing the statements made by the army chief, defense minister and foreign minister. If Chinese troops did not enter India's border, the two countries What was the conflict for? What were the negotiations between the armies of the two countries for?
