The route of the special train has been changed keeping in view the alert of cyclone 'Amphan'

Train running is also not allowed in Lockdown 4. The cyclonic storm 'Emphan' over the Bay of Bengal has also affected the Special Capital train running during the lockdown. Considering the risk of storm 'Amphan', the Railways has changed the route of the special train from Bhubaneswar to Delhi and from Delhi to Bhubaneswar.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in view of the speed and capability of the cyclone, requested the Center to temporarily suspend all labor special trains passing through Cyclone 'Emphan'.

Following the alert issued by the meteorological department and the request of Naveen Patnaik, the Railway Ministry has decided to change the route of the train. According to the information provided by the railways, the route of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar AC special train has been changed for the next 4 days.

The train will leave Delhi on May 18 and run on the changed route till May 21. The AC special train from Bhubaneswar will then run on the new route from May 19 to May 22.

A new route of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar AC special train has been constructed. The train will now reach Delhi via Bhubaneswar, Angul, Sambalpur City, Zarsugunda, Rourkela, Tata. Passengers from Baleshwar and Hijli (Kharagpur) will not get this train facility on this route. He will have to face trouble.

Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has urged the states to co-operate in transporting foreign workers home during the Covid-19 lockdown and in running more labor special trains. The Cabinet Secretary has requested the state governments to co-operate in running more labor special trains for foreigners.

The chairman of the Railway Board, who was present at the video conference, assured that more special trains could be run if the state allowed it.

Indian Railways on Sunday said that a special train of 1,300 workers has been run since May 1 and more than 1.7 million workers have been delivered to their homes through it. Most trains have reached Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has so far allowed more than 500 trains. Bihar then came in second with about 300 trains allowed.

The cyclonic storm is likely to worsen sea conditions in the South and Bay of Bengal and the Andamans, prompting the government to warn fishermen not to go ashore.

Along with changing the route of the train, West Bengal fishermen have also been warned not to cross the Bay of Bengal or the coast of West Bengal-Odisha between May 18 and 21. Fishermen who were already at sea have also been recalled.
