A Pakistan International Airlines flight from Karachi to Lahore has crashed at Jinnah International Airport on Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has said.
According to Pakistani media, the plane crashed while landing at Jinnah International Airport, with 107 passengers on board. According to an eyewitness, a large plume of smoke rose after the plane crashed.
PIA spokesman Abdul Sattar confirmed the crash and said the A-320 was en route from Lahore to Karachi with 107 passengers on board.
Seeing footage of smoke from the crash site in the footage, ambulance and rescue officers rushed to the scene to help the pilgrims.
A statement from Inter Service Public Relations said the army and Sindh Pakistan Rangers arrived at the site along with the civilian administration for relief and rescue efforts.
