Corona's lethal economic effects are beginning to show in the IT sector as India is flooded with foreign exchange.
In the IT sector, layoffs have begun. France's BBO company Teleperformance has housed 3,000 workers overnight. Employees have been told that many of the company's customers have withdrawn and decided to reduce staff. Employees will be paid 30 days salary.
Experts in the IT BPO sector say that 1.5 lakh people could lose their jobs in the sector in the next six months. The retrenchment in the IT industry is likely to take place mostly in smaller companies.
