PM Modi has expressed displeasure over the Rs 1,000 crore package announced for the state after the devastation caused by Hurricane Amphan in West Bengal.
After the PM's announcement, Mamata Banerjee said that the state has lost Rs 1 lakh crore and the package is being given only Rs 1,000 crore. It has also just been announced. Other details attached to the package, such as when and how the money will be received, have not been given. The state owes Rs 56,000 crore to the central government.
Earlier, PM Modi had said that the Center and the state were working together to help the people affected by the hurricane.
At present, the state government will be given Rs 1,000 crore by the Center to avoid any trouble, as well as Rs 2 lakh from the PM Relief Fund for those who have died and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
