Lockdown: 10 workers traveling from Punjab to Bihar were crushed by a bus, killing six

Accidents involving migrant workers on foot due to lockdowns are not going away. A similar incident has recently come to light in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

A roadways bus crushed 10 migrant workers on the Saharanpur State Highway in the late night crash on Wednesday. All the workers were on their way to Bihar from Punjab on foot and six workers were killed in the accident near Ghalauli check post.

Police, who reached the spot after the accident, arrested the driver of the bus on the roadways of Taj Depot in Agra after taking necessary action. The victims were identified as being from Gopalganj in Bihar and the bodies were sent for postmortem at night.

Four laborers were seriously injured in the accident near Rohana Toll Plaza on Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur State Highway-59, two of whom were referred to Meerut. Earlier, a truck overturned in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh, killing five workers and injuring 11 others.

Earlier, a freight train overturned on 17 railway workers at Aurangabad in Maharashtra, killing 16 workers. Out of 20 laborers traveling from Jalna in Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh, 17 lay on the tracks due to exhaustion and it became their last sleep.
