Clashes are raging between security forces and militants in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. One militant has been killed in the clashes. The operation is being made a success by Army 34 RR, CRPF and Kulgam Police. Mobile internet service has been temporarily suspended in Kulgam and Shopian districts by the administration to prevent any rumors of a clash.
It may be mentioned that the security forces had received information that the militants were hiding in the Hapora area of Mirwani in the district. Based on this information, the security forces started cordoning off the area.
The security forces encountered the militants during the investigation operation. The militants started firing at the security forces. The jawans then retaliated and shot dead one of the militants. Currently there is firing from both sides.
