Indian and Chinese armies in the most tense situation after Doklam

Ladakh, Ta. Tuesday 26 May 2020

Tensions between Indian and Chinese troops in some disputed areas on the LAC in eastern Ladakh are not going away. The two armies are in a confrontational position. It is feared that this could be the biggest military confrontation since the Doklam chapter in 2017.

According to top military sources, India has increased its strength in the two disputed areas of Pangong Tso and Galwa Valley, where about 2,000 to 2,500 Chinese troops are camping. An army official said the strength of the Indian army in the area was better than that of the Chinese army.

The biggest concern for the Indian Army is the presence of Chinese troops in some major border areas, including the Indian Post AM 120 along the Darbuk-Shyok-Dolat Bag Old Road in the Galwa Valley. "This is a serious condition," said Lt. Gen. DS Hooda. This is not a common crime. The situation in the Galwa Valley is worrisome as there has been no major dispute between the two sides before.
