Cyber crime has increased a lot amid the Corona crisis. Recently a new case has come up. In which the patients recovering from cyber fraud Covid-19 have been caught illegally selling blood plasma on the dark net. Cybercriminals were promoting plasma as a miraculous cure for corona virus infection. Police are investigating the whole matter.
Other countries, including India, are going to use plasma therapy on an experimental basis to treat severe cases of Covid-19. Plasma of healed patients is being marketed on the Dark Net as a miracle cure.
For the first time in the country, the Maharashtra Cyber Police is sending a notice under Section 149 of the IPC for disseminating catastrophic content online. Section 149 empowers the police to take action to prevent a potential crime.
