Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has called off an emergency in Tokyo and four other places due to the Corona virus. At the same time, nationwide sanctions in Japan have been lifted. Experts from a panel set up by the government have approved the lifting of the emergency in Tokyo, neighboring provinces Kangawa Chiba and Saitama, and Hokkaido in the northern part of the country.

Emergency was lifted from the rest of Japan earlier this month. About 16,550 people have been infected with the corona in Japan and about 850 people have died from the infection. Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said a special government panel had approved plans for the emergency removal of the corona virus in Tokyo and four other provinces.

Emergency removal does not mean the end of the epidemic

The way was cleared for Shinzo Abe to remove the emergency by gradually allowing businesses to resume. "Emergency removal does not mean the end of the epidemic," Nishimura said. Preventive measures and balancing the economy are aimed at reducing the chances of the transition spreading again. Abe declared a state of emergency on April 7 in parts of Japan, including Tokyo.
