With more than 3,000 cases of corona in a single day in India, the number of Kovid-12 patients has crossed 1.50 lakh, but the central government said the recovery rate has further improved to 5 per cent. In the last three hours, 18 deaths have been reported from Corona and 2,09 new cases have been reported. With this, the total number of corona cases rose to 1,8,31 while the total death toll has risen to nine. So far 6 patients have recovered in the country and they have been discharged from the hospital. The apex court, meanwhile, on Wednesday asked the central government to release a list of private hospitals that provide free or nominal treatment for the corona virus. The ICMR, on the other hand, also asked the states to reduce the cost of testing the Covid-12 in Khag's laboratory.

The health ministry said the recovery rate of corona in the country has gone up to 7.5 per cent. Six new cases of corona were reported in the national capital on Wednesday, the biggest jump in a single day. With this, the number of coronary heart disease patients in Delhi rose to 12.5 while the death toll was 203. Tamil Nadu also recorded the highest number of 212 new cases in a single day. The new case involves workers returning from other states. In addition, states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and West Bengal also witnessed a significant rise in new cases of corona.

In Kerala, the number of coronary heart disease patients in the state has crossed 1,000 with 40 people coming in positive, including six from abroad. The epidemic was under control in Kerala after India's first case of corona was reported on January 30, but the spread of corona in Kerala has increased since the beginning of this month with the influx of people from other states and abroad.

Corona cases were on the rise in states including Tripura, Odisha and West Bengal, which have the highest number of returnees from other states. People returning home in labor special trains have been stopped at various quarantine centers.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zormathanga said he was considering extending the lockdown in the state beyond May 31. The Himachal Pradesh government has empowered all district magistrates to take a decision to extend the lockdown after May 31. Three district magistrates in the state have signaled to continue curfew in their areas for a month.

As the fourth phase of the lockdown draws to a close, phased domestic aviation services have been allowed in the country, while special labor trains have been running since May 1. Air India on Wednesday said a passenger on an Alliance Air flight was en route from Delhi to Ludhiana after the country started domestic flights two months later. A total of 21 people, including five crew members, have been quarantined after the tourist tested positive. This is the first such incident since the launch of the domestic aviation service. The test of a person who arrived in a plane from Ahmedabad in Assam has also come positive.

Center announces list of private hospitals offering free corona treatment: Supreme

As corona cases continue to rise in the country, the Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the central government to release a list of private hospitals that can treat Covid-12 patients for free or at low cost. Chief Justice S. a. A three-judge bench headed by Bobde heard a petition by video conferencing. Judge Bobde said there are many private hospitals in the country which have been given land for free or at a nominal rate. Such hospitals should therefore treat coronary patients free of cost. The bench said that these charitable hospitals should provide free treatment to Corona. With that he postponed a further hearing on the matter for a month. On behalf of the Center, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the government would need some time as it was a policy decision. However, private hospitals expressed concern over the matter, saying such a decision was not practical. "If the government is willing to bear our expenses, we don't mind giving us free treatment," said Alok Roy of the Cher-Ficci Health Services Committee.

States to reduce Covid-12 test cost: ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has asked the states and union territories to reduce the cost of RT-PCR tests for corona virus in private laboratories. Director General of ICMR Prof. Balram Bhargava wrote a letter to the states asking them to negotiate with a private laboratory to reduce the price for samples of corona sent by the government by mutual consent. ICMR has earlier fixed the price for a test in a private laboratory at Rs. Suggested to keep 2,500. However, testing can no longer be done at the previous price as the price of the commodity has come down. He said private laboratories should reduce the cost of testing as testing kits are now available in the country only from the domestic market.
