Ashwagandha can be an effective drug to fight coronavirus: research

Ayurvedic herb Ashwagandha can be very helpful against Corona virus. This has been revealed in the research of IIT Delhi and a technology institute in Japan.

According to research, this herb can be very effective in preventing and treating Covid-19 infection. The natural compound of ashwagandha and propolis has the potential to form a drug against the corona virus, according to the researchers.

Propolis, beeswax glue inside the bee. The scientists involved in the study team targeted the SARS-Kovi-2 enzyme during the research, said the head of the biotechnology department at IIT Delhi.

He said the results of the research could not only save the time and cost needed to test drugs that prevent the corona virus but could also prove important in the management of the Covid-19 epidemic.

He says it may take some time to make the drugs. The research was conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology of Japan in association with IIT Delhi.

According to reports, the government has also started a study on whether Ashwagandha could be a drug to stop the corona virus. It can also be seen from the government that hydroxychloroquine, a drug that can prevent malaria, could be an alternative to this potential drug.
